Property Tax Meltdown   Developed for the Atlanta Journal Constitution's Property Tax Meltdown series. This interactive map allows visitors to find their zip code and view a breakdown of how the assessed value of their property is likely to stack up against the actual price they could get for their home.

I did all of the programming, graphics and production on the project. I worked with a reporter and two data analysts who gathered and organized the data.

Cape Fear to Down Here   Developed for the Carolina Photojournalism Workshop 2008. The challenge: Find an interesting way to present 26 photo stories on one page. Hint: roll over stories in the menu for a brief "teaser".

I programmed this site and worked with a few people on the design.

Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar contest(2008): 2nd place, Multimedia Interactive

Find Five Challenge   The Find Five Challenge is a popular game on the Atlanta Journal Constitution's website, with a new challenge every weekday. My assignment was to re-design and re-program the existing version from the bottom up. This is the result I was most happy with, although ajc.com opted for a variation I created to integrate more seamlessly with their site.

Math in Motion   I built this site for my sister's math project. Her assignment was to present six jobs that used three different pre-calculus concepts and present it in an interesting way. Her teacher (who knew she didn't make it herself) showed it off to all the other classes as an example of what their projects should have been like :)

Eyes of the Storm   This package, created for The Daily Tar Heel, was rolled out over a period of five days to coincide with the print series marking the two year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.
This is one of my first big interactive projects. The code is awful but I got the job done, if inefficiently, with the knowledge I had at the time. I'm proud of it for that.

Awards:
Society of Professional Journalists 2007 Mark of Excellence contest: First Place, Online In-Depth Reporting
