Emily Merwin is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she concentrated in multimedia journalism. While at UNC-CH she served as flash director at The Daily Tar Heel and programmed the website for the 2008 Carolina Photojournalism Workshop in Cape Fear, NC.

Emily is the digital technology producer at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, where she advocates for the best and most efficient uses of technologies in the newsroom, and also produces interactive graphics and web tools. Emily was part of a team that planned the design, functionality and launch of the AJC's subscription-based iPad app.

She enjoys swimming (particularly of the synchronized variety) and is learning to enjoy running.
